About Us
The world is full of problems that are too specific for big companies to care about and too nuanced to fit on most product roadmaps. That's where we live.
Intrepid Rhino is a product development lab that builds niche technology for a complex world. Hardware, firmware, software, whatever the problem demands. We design from first principles, prototype by hand, and ship things that actually work in the field.
We don't chase trends or build for the broadest possible market. We find the hard, overlooked problems where the real answer is a soldering iron, not a pitch deck. Then we build the thing that should exist.
Based in Pennsylvania.
We have something great in the works. Stay tuned for product announcements.
About the Founder
Juddson Sharp
Hi, I'm Juddson. I've spent most of my career building software, a lot of it in payments and consumer credit. That work taught me how much it matters when something people rely on just works, and how quickly trust goes when it doesn't.
Intrepid Rhino is where I get to build fun things I keep wishing existed. The first one started with a simple frustration: a crowd of people in a field with no cell service and no good way to find each other. So I started building a fix, from the circuit boards and firmware to the phone app and the servers behind it.
Hardware wasn't where I started, and I've learned most of it the slow way. Boards that wouldn't boot. Radios that wouldn't talk to each other. Field tests where half of what I planned for never happened. I've learned more from those than from anything that went smoothly.
I don't have it all figured out. What I do is test in the real world, take the feedback seriously (especially the blunt kind), and fix what's broken before adding anything new.
If you're working on something similar, or just want to talk shop, reach out. I'd like to hear from you.
